The Growing Threat What's Being Done
-OCTOBER
NOVEMBER-
Celebrating its Fifth Anniversary, BMMT/Cleveland scheduled meetings, a workship, and an anniversary banquet at which former Clevelander Aubrey Wertheim spoke.
Jerry Bores, IRLGPC president, took justifiable satisfaction in hard work that produced 11 endorsements in the November eletion, 9 whom won.
Gay political and health leaders from Ohio gathered at Mohican State Park for a meeting planned by Buck Harris, the Ohio Department of Health's Gay Health Consult-
ant.
In spite of Halloween festivities, October was notable mostly for growing concern with rising hysteria about AIDS.
In the wake of Rock Hudson's death, the media tended to feature scare stories, suggesting someone sitting next to you could give you AIDS. The good news was a $300.000 grant the Ohio Department of Health received from the Centers for Disease Control to upgrade statewide survellance of AIDS. Other good news were Oven concerts featuring Ferron and Deirdra McCalla.
